Located in the Madrian appellation in South West France, Chateau Peyros’ vineyards are studded with rolled pebbles and clay called “pouzzolanes”, which give the wines a signature minerality.
Tannat, a grape native to Madrian, makes up the majority of the blend, giving the wine notes of dark red & purple fruit, and a distinct tannic structure. Cabernet Franc (about 20%), brings red cherry & currant notes and a bright acidity to balance it all out. Fifteen months in barrel (50/50 new & neutral) lends a toasty vanilla note and smooth finish.
80% Tannat, 20% Cabernet Franc. Organic.
