The Zacharias family’s wines were first planted in 1962 on the slopes around the village of Leontio in the heart of Nemea, about 70 miles southwest of Athens. Winemaker Elias Zacharias has spent the last 35 years combining traditional elements with state of the art technology.
The vines now span over 100 sloping acres planted to 32 different varieties, including several rare, indigenous Greek grapes. Their Assyrtiko, one of Greece’s most famous white wines, is cold soaked for 8 hours with controlled fermentation & aging in stainless steel.
Bone-dry & minerally, with bursts of lemon, yellow flowers, stone fruit, & honey. Delightfully clean & plump, the balanced acidity highlights a zesty, crisp, sea salt finish. The perfect match with a Greek feast of spanakopita, tomato-feta salad, olives, and seafood.
