The Villalobos family has made wine for over 6 decades in Lolol, in the Colchagua Valley. In all that time, they have never used chemicals on their vineyards, where grapes grow among native Chilean flora.
From 4 hectares of dry-farmed 20 year old vines grown on clay & quartz soils just 20 miles from the Pacific at 330 feet above sea level. The dry season in this warm, temperate climate can last 6-8 months each year, with daily temperature swings of up to 20 degrees.
Fermented with indigenous yeasts in steel with natural malo in spring. Aged in tank 9 months, then bottled without fining or filtration.
Lighter in body than many Chilean Cabs, “Costino” is filled with ripe red fruit, dark plum, cherry, stewed blackberries. Super drinkable & incredibly food-friendly, with dusty, delicate tannins & a bright acidity leading to a long, lush finish.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Organic. Natural.
