Vignale di Cecilia is a small estate in the Euganean Hills of the Veneto that has been in the care of the Brunello family for over 45 years. Paolo Brunello, a former professional cellist, was the first in the family to bottle & label his own wine in 2000. His 10 hectares of vines are farmed organically & split between 7 vineyard sites at a range of altitudes. The climate is moderate, tempered by the nearby Adriatic Sea.
“Poldo” is named for the family hound dog, prominently featured on the label. This local field blend comes from 30 year old vines grow on volcanic limestone soils mixed with clay. Each lot is spontaneously fermented in steel, then aged in cement on the lees for 6 months before blending.
Savory, fresh, and minerally, with notes of hazelnut, green apple, white flowers, and fresh orchard fruit. Hints of rosemary, sage, & spice lead to a lively finish.
50% Garganega, 40% Tocai Friulano, 10% Moscato. Organic. Natural.
