Venturini Baldini was original founded in 1888 in the hills between Reggio Emilia and Parma. The winery opened in 1976, with an emphasis on organic farming, and was one of the first certified organic wineries in Emilia-Romagna in the early 1990s. In 2013, Giuseppe & Julia Prestia purchased the estate, carrying on the Venturini Baldini family’s heritage.
Today the 130 hectare estate has 30 hectares of vines, planted between 170-370 meters in elevation. The grapes grow on clay-sandy soils & are hand harvested before a short charmat method to trap the light fizz.
Aromas of juicy black cherries & herbs, with an aromatic palate of wild cherry candy, raspberry, blackberry, pomegranate, sage, violets, and stone dust. Lightly tannic, with a tingly acidity, subtle tannins, and bright spice in the fine bubbles.
