Over the last 40 years, Manfred Tement, along with his son Armin, have established Weingut Tement as a benchmark producer of Austrian Sauvignon Blanc.
“Kalk & Kreide” is Tement’s flagship wine, from 55 plots of Sauvignon Blanc grown mostly on coralline limestone soil (aka “kalk”) with some clay (the “kreide”). Natural fermentation in stainless steel. Aged 6 months on the lees.
Tense, taut, & tart. Tangerine, fresh mown grass, garden herbs, elderflower. Bone-dry, high acid. As fresh as the day is long.
