Founded in 1979 in the land of Dionysus & his mother Seméli, George Kokotos & his team at Seméli Estate craft high quality Greek wines in the high altitude vineyards of the hilly Kousti region of Nemea. Seméli has 30 hectares of vines, which they are in the process of converting to organic farming.
Grapes come from high altitude vineyard on limestone & clay soils. The Moschofilero on the Mantinia plateau at 650m elevation, while the Sauvignon Blanc comes from the slopes of the Aigialia mountains at 750m. The harsh winters & cool summer nights allow the grapes to ripen slowly to develop maximum flavor & aroma. Fermented at cool temperatures and aged in steel.
Vibrant & aromatic, with scents of rose & lemon blossom, citrus & exotic fruits. The palate is fresh, round & clean, with lemon balm, white peach, grapefruit, pineapple, pear, and a touch of mint. The tangy acidity leads to a lovely herbaceous, mineral finish.
80% Moschofilro, 20% Sauvignon Blanc. Organic.
