Light red, with aromas of red fruits, floral notes, and a hint of spice; fresh and crunchy, with flavors of cherry and cranberry.

This vin de négoce is made with both red and white grapes that are imported from outside Jura. Maceration of 20 days, aged in tank. A charming, light and fruity bottle. Fresh and fragrant, with hints of citrus, bitter herbs, and red cherries and a tiny hint of Christmas spice.

A perfumed, juicy red made by Domaine de L’Octavin from Carignan and Grenache harvested in Provence and brought north to the Jura for vinification. The fruit-forward profile stays fresh and lifted, with gentle structure and an easy, flowing feel. Naturally made and kept light on its feet, this wine leans into drinkability without losing depth.

Alice Bouvot is the proprietor of Domaine de l'Octavin, comprised of 5 hectares of vines in the Arbois region of the Jura. Alice started her domaine in 2005 with just 2 hectares and over the years has bought small plots and slowly increased the winery's production. L’Octavin is Demeter biodynamic certified--wild grasses, weeds, insects, and animals all have a place in their vines, creating a true ecosystem that gives a deeper meaning to her wines.

Since 2009 all L’Octavin wines are made with no additives at all. The grapes are destemmed by hand and fermented without the use of sulfur, cultured yeasts, or other additives. Most of the wines are fermented and aged in fiberglass or steel tanks, but only at the ambient temperature of the cave. Most of L’Octavin wines are made to reflect single plot expression.

Fruit for this wine comes from the biodynamic vineyards of Claude Ughetto in the Vaucluse. The Carignan was infused gently as whole bunches for three weeks, while the Grenache was de-stemmed and spent five weeks on skins. After pressing, the wines were assembled in cuve to rest until the following spring. The result is a light, bright and aromatic wine with notes of red cherry, citrus and bitter herbs.
