Gina Giugni grew up on her parents’ biodynamic winery, Narrow Gate Vineyards, and started Lady of the Sunshine in 2017 to make natural wines that reflect the purity of the place they come from.
Fruit comes from the Stolpman vineyard, 15 miles from the coast, on a limestone outcropping. grapes were soaked on the skins overnight before whole-bunch press. Fermented with native yeasts in neutral French oak barrels, it aged on the lees for 7 months.
Margarita salt, lime zest, pineapple, & peppery white peach lead to richer notes of preserved lemon, olive oil cake, & honeyed nuts, with an earthy, grassy minerality, creamy texture, & citrusy acidity.
