The Krásná Hora estate , whose name means "beautiful hill," is located in the southeast of the Czech Republic, in the Moravian wine region, near the village of Starý Poddvorov. The vineyard's origins date back to the 12th century with French monks, which explains the presence of traditional grape varieties. For Krásná Hora, it all began in the 1960s.
The family estate is now run by Ondrej, Blanca, and Marek, who represent a new generation of Czech winemakers. Their goal: to produce vibrant, precise wines that respect their terroir and the environment.
The vineyard covers approximately 9 hectares , cultivated using biodynamic farming methods . The soils are rich in limestone, and the continental climate is characterized by significant temperature variations – ideal for preserving freshness and tension in the wines.
The grape varieties include Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Gewurztraminer , while the reds include Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, and Pinot Noir. They
also produce macerated orange wines and superb natural sparkling wines (PetNat) , which have become emblematic of the estate.
Winemaking is natural, without additives, and carried by great precision. The wines are elegant, vibrant, often very drinkable, and imbued with a beautiful energy.
