Jean-Paul Brun had just 4 hectares of vines when he took over his family’s vineyards near Charnay in 1979, and has to over 60 hectares today, including holdings in most of Beaujolais’ famed Crus.
Best known for his Games, he planted Pinot Noir on the clay-limestone hills of his estate vineyard in Charnay in 1991. Traditional Burgundian vinification here: grapes are rigorously sorted & destemmed, crushed & fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats. Maceration lasts about 3 weeks before aging in mostly concrete with a little older oak as needed.
Plums, cherries, orange rind, sweet spice meet savory notes of fresh turned soil, wood smoke, & a lovely floral topnote. Full & ample, with a seamlessly satiny palate & saline finish.
100% Pinot Noir. Organic. Natural.
