In 1962, 30 small families founded Jacquart, the original ‘grower champagne’. By 2000, the group had swelled to nearly 700 members, making Jacquart part of the largest land-owning grower’s co-op in the region. Their 350 hectares encompasses 60 separate crus, with the house style leaning toward Chardonnay-based wines with low dosage for freshness & balance.
Fermented in temperature controlled tanks, with full malolactic. Spends at least 3 years on the lees in bottle, then another f3 months in bottle after disgorgement with 9-10 g/L dosage. “Mosaïque” is a blend of all 3 Champagne grapes, with roughly 16% of the Pinot Noir added via the saignée method. Each year 25-35% of the blend comes from reserve wines.
Ripe redcurrants, cherries, and wild strawberries give way to plum, yellow peach, and apricot. Floral notes of elderflower and honey give way to a juicy, fleshy edge. The great length on the finish is punctuated by bright bubbles filled with a lovely minerality and crisp acidity.
33% Chardonnay, 44% Pinot Noir, 23% Pinot Meunier. RM. Sustainable.
