David Hirsch first planted his vineyard in 1980, long before Sonoma was recognized for its famed terroir. Fruit was sold off to other producers, like Williams-Selyem, Siduri, and Littorai. In 2017, David’s daughter, Jasmine, took over as winemaker.
San Andreas Fault is named for the famed geological feature that runs just a few hundred yards away and created the dynamic mix of soils across the estate.
The fruit sourced from 45 distinct blocks from Hirsch Vineyard, from 20-40 year old vines. Grapes from each plot are vinified separately to create the perfect blend, with 42% whole cluster. Aged in French oak barrels.
Juicy red fruits, like morello cherry, crushed strawberry and black raspberry, Christmas cake spice, rose water, alpine herbs, and fresh earth. Gentle tannins lead to a stony, mineral-infused finish. A world class Pinot Noir that will age beautifully for years.
100% Pinot Noir. Organic. Biodynamic.
