Built in the 4th century, Chateau Moncontour overlooks the Loire River as one of the oldest castles in the Loire Valley.
Harvested a week after their “Sec”, from 20-45 year old vines grown on chalky, clay-like soils in a plot named “La Monaco”. Temperature-controlled fermentation in tank is halted for the best balance of acidity and residual sugar. Aged 3 months with regular fining and racking.
Soft and round, this Demi-Sec ("semi-dry") Vouvray is filled with apricot, peach, green apple, quince, and pear, the sweetness tempers the acidity, emphasizing the yellow fruit & crisp texture.
100% Chenin Blanc. Off-dry.
