Founded in 1850, Chateau Castellas has 30 hectares of vines on a rocky plateau of clay & limestone. The Roucanieres family is committed to natural farming, using the same methods their ancestors did so long ago. This is Malbec & Merlot, from 25+ year-old vines. Aged 30% in barrel & 70% concrete, the firm, grippy fruit balances the tannins nicely. Merlot rounds out the mouth, finishing clean & strong with plum & flowers.
80% Malbec, 20% Merlot. Organic.
