Created in the late 1400s, Caves Jean Bourdy is one of the oldest domaines in the Jura, now on the 15th generation of winemakers under brothers Jean-François & Jean-Phillipe.
A “baby Vin Jaune”, aged 4 years in old barrel without being topped up before bottling. A layer of flor (yeast) protects the wine, giving it supremely complex aromas.
Uniquely oxidative in the best way, decanting brings out nutty notes of almond & walnut laced with butterscotch, baked apple, apricot, beeswax, lemon zest, nectarine, thyme, & bourbon. Powerfully rich & aromatic. Geeky stuff.
