Grapes for "Sacrantino" come from the Pietrauta vineyard, just 1km from the village of Montefalco. Two years in 2600L Austrian oak and an additional 9-12 months in stainless steel calms some of Sagrantino's tannins before it sits in bottle for another year. Powerfully complex notes of rosehips, violets, blackcurrant leaf, blackberry, and black plum, with sandalwood, blueberry cake, hibiscus tea, and old leather.
