Jim Fischer & Jenny Mosbacher started Fossil & Fawn making just small amounts of wine from Jim’s family vineyard, Silvershot, and quickly spiraled into a much more complex, frustrating, terrifying, and unbelievably rewarding venture. They use a natural approach, allowing the vines to do the talking with the least amount of manipulation possible.
A blend of grapes sourced from all the vineyards F&F works with across the Willamette Valley, ranging from 20-50 years. Aged mostly in neutral oak to let the fruit shine.
Brambly raspberry & blackberry, violets, smoked leather, wet rocks, & earthy mushrooms with a saline finish.
