The Ratte family produces little but good, even very good. This is evidenced by the Naturé , the estate's signature cuvée which represents both the estate's style and the indigenous grape variety.
Savagnin Pear, lemon and quite herbal. Quite reductive struck match and needs some time and a decant to show at it's best. Pithy and textural on the palate with plenty of acid and juicy finish. The finish lingers sumptuously on the tongue, providing a rindy, almost bitter counterpoint to its initial flavors. The grapes are harvested by hand from vineyards on blue and gray marl soils. Most vines are 20 years of age, but some are over 100 years old. Natural fermentation. Upbringing in old oak barrels from Meursault and bottled the following year without filtration and very little sulphur.
