Francesco Cirelli purchased this winery in 2003, with the intent of organically farming olives, garlic, grains, and figs, along with a tiny vineyard of native Trebbiano & Montepulciano grapes. Just 8 kilometers from the sea, the vineyards & olive groves are surrounded by national parks & preserved woods.
Grapes grow on calcium-rich clay & limestone soil, then are gently crushed and transferred to stainless steel tanks for indigenous fermentation. After a week of maceration on the skins, the wine is softly pressed, then aged in steel for 4-6 months.
Ripe cherry & small red berries, violets, rosemary, black pepper, dark spice. Soft, round, & full, with smooth, integrated tannins and a bright finish.
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Organic.
