Kakha Tchotiashvili makes all of his wines in qvevri with traditional Kakhetian technology.
Vines for this Saperavi were planted in 1980 in the Inner Kakheti region at the base of the Caucasus Mountain, 480 meters above sea level. Only the best grapes from the vineyard goes into this Limited Reserve.
The grapes see 3.5 months of maceration on the full skins, pips, and stems in qvevri, fermenting naturally before moving to oak barrels for 3 months.
Inky black and tannic, this is a dense, chewy, serious wine.
Dark berries, black currant, vanilla, cinnamon, coffee, and licorice before a long, seductive finish.
Saperavi. Organic. Natural.
