This estate has been in the Stahl family since 1814, but only started growing wine in 1984. Christian Stahl & his wife Simone took control in 2000, and have expanded from 1.5ha of vines to over 30ha. With an eye on sustainable, organic, and traditional methods, they make natural & authentic wines in Auernhofen, Franken, Germany.
This Müller-Thurgau grows on stony clay soils in the warm summer days & cool nights of the Tauber Valley. After a rigorous selection of the best grapes, it went through a long, cool fermentation & aging in steel.
Also a trained chef, Christian’s wines are all bone dry. His Müller-Thurgau is refreshing & bright, with notes of mandarin orange sherbert, white peach, lemon, and grass. The brilliant minerality & lithe acidity lead to a complex, juicy richness.
Müller-Thurgau. Sustainable.
