The Villalobos family focuses on terroir-driven wild-grown Carignan. Their flagship, 80 year-old vineyard is untouched wilderness, where vines grow alongside native vegetation, with no pruning or irrigation. The local Chilean flora & fauna are essential to keep the vines pest- and disease-free. Vines even grow up nearby trees for support—some towering over 6 meters above the tree tops.
Hand harvested, the gravity-settled grapes go through spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in steel tanks, before full malolactic fermentation and ages 18 months in older French barrels before being bottled unfined & unfiltered.
Blackberry, maqui berry, cherry and strawberry fruit, with delicate, velvety tannins.
