After studying agronomy & enology, Roberto Henríquez worked with winemakers in Canada, South Africa, and the Loire Valley. Roberto has long-term contracts with several growers in the area, and manages the farming at all of the plots himself. He champions the Pipeño method, farming with organically & biodynamically, to reclaim traditional Chilean winemaking methods before they’re lost.
The decayed granite soils of the coastal Itata Valley impart a distinctly smoky flavor to the 100+ year old vines. Hand harvested & destemmed, each varietal is gentle crush, and natural fermentation on the skins in tanks for 3 months. Aged in 80% stainless steel and 20% neutral Raulí beech barrels.
Vibrantly aromatic and delicate, with notes of ripe orange, white flowers, stone fruits, white pepper, and bitter almond. The time on the skins brings an appealing structure, with plenty of bright minerality to balance the apricot, peach, and pear flavors.
