Fifth generation winegrower Régis Bouvier founded his label in 1981, and has expanded from 2 to 16 hectares, with about 60 plots including holdings in Dijon, Marsannay, Fixin, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Morey-Saint-Denis.
This Gevrey-Chambertain is a blend of several plots totaling about half an acre of 45 year old vines grown on limestone with marly clay. A long, controlled maceration in concrete vats is followed by 14 months in barrels (30% new).
Aromas of baking spice, pepper, smoke, and small red & black berries join a woodsiness on the nose reminiscent of a forest floor in autumn. Wildly elegant. Perfect for aging.
Pinot Noir. Sustainable.
