"Rapillo" means serrated in Italian, an homage to the craggy, nearly inhospitable volcanic terrain near Lazio, the homeland of the Cesanese grape. Fresh, dry, and juicy in an earthy way, it's full of brambly berries, a mushroomy earthiness, and soft tannins. A fantastic warm-weather red, that can take a chill and stand up to just about anything grilled.
