Quinta das Bágeiras takes a minimalist approach to winemaking, to better express the local terroir. The 4th generation estate only began bottling under their label in 1989, and has grown to 28 hectares spread throughout 10 plots.
The maritime climate of Bairrada brings plenty of rain and cool temperatures to build a bright acidity in its wines. The 15 year old vines grow on clay & limestone soils. Hand-picked, whole cluster grapes undergo open top spontaneous fermentation in steel. Aged in steel for one year, before bottling with no dosage, then rested & racked for another year.
Fresh, tangy, and bright, with raspberry, red cherries, grapefruit, and lemon. Full, lively, and fresh, the bright bubbles close with a refreshing, savory tartness.
100% Baga.
