The Murphy family named their winery Presqu’ile (French Creole for “almost an island” after the beloved family gathering place, Presqu’ile on the Mississippi Gulf Coast was decimated during Hurricane Katrina. Today they have 73 cares of sustainably farmed vineyards on their 200 acre property, located near the western border of the Santa Maria Valley. Here, the cold Pacific air constantly blows over the ocean-facing hills.
Grapes for this rosé were grown on sandy loam soils, with most of the fruit coming from the Presqu’ile estate vineyard, with some fruit from Cottonwood Canyon & Bien Nacido Vineyards. Fermented with native yeasts in steel, the juice then is racked into steel tanks for 5 months & blended with a little extra Pinot Noir for color and texture.
Zesty & vibrant, with ripe watermelon, strawberry skin, tart cherries, and crushed rocks. The palate brings a creamy texture to offset the clean freshness and high-toned electric texture before a crisp, mouthwatering minerality.
100% Pinot Noir. Sustainable. Organic.
