Roland Piollot’s family has had strong roots in the town of Polisot since the early 20th century. His great-grandfather was one of the leaders of the 1911 Aube revolt, ensuring Aube would remain an official part of Champagne.
Roland Piollot’s father Robert cleared & planted hometown favorite Pinot Blanc on Kimmeridgian soils in the Val Colas Robin parcel in 1955 using the selection massale method.
Colas Robin is aged 80% in steel & 20% in barrels for 10 months, then spends 5 years in bottle on the lees before disgorgement with no dosage.
Precise & elegant, with aromas of stonefruit, sunbaked lemon, brioche, & musk. The palate holds tart citrus & white peach followed by marzipan, orange zest, honey drizzled walnuts, & crusty baguette surrounded by a chalky, wet stone minerality, vivid acidity, & toasty complexity.
100% Pinot Blanc. Biodynamic.
