Lucas & Lewellen was founded in 1996 by long-time friends 3rd generation viticulturist Louis Lucas and Superior Court Judge Royce Lewellen. Today, they grow 24 varietals over 400 acres of vineyards throughout Santa Barbara County.
Their Estate Chardonnay comes from selected lots in 2 of Lucas & Lewellen’s estate vineyards, where cool ocean air from the Pacific tempers the warm days for a long, gentle growing season.
Los Alamos Vineyard features thick layers of clay & loam soils, while the Goodchild Vineyard’s soil is a mix of clay & river deposits. Fermented at cool temperatures in stainless, with some time in barrels.
Abundantly fruity with pear, peach, guava, & stone fruit. A lemony citrus note combines with caramel and a creamy texture on the lingering finish.
100% Chardonnay
