Ktima Brintziki produces rare, indigenous varietals in the Ilian region of Peloponnese, near the ancient town of Lantzoi, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. The 15 hectare, clay-soil property sits 300 meters above sea level. Dionysios “Sakis” Brintziki and his wife Dioynsia were both professional musicians before taking over the family estate in 1994, but vines have grown on the family property since 1932. Brintziki holds the honor of Greece’s first carbon-neutral winery.
“Melios” pays tribute to musicians and artists, and the property’s amphitheater is a local gathering place for the arts, hosting plays, concerts, and other shows. The grapes were destemmed and pressed to stainless steel, then aged on the lees in steel for 2 months.
Balanced & refreshing, with ripe stone fruit, tropical fruit, poached pears, warm citrus, and a pronounced floral component. Notes of citrus flowers, green apple, and bergamot carry though on the rich, tropical fruit-filled finish.
70% Roditis, 30% Malagouzia. Organic.
