Domaine Kientzler is a 5th generation estate, with 13.8 hectares of vineyards spread throughout Ribeauvillé, Bergheim, Hunawihr, and Riquewihr, including 4.4 hectares classified as Grand Cru.
Kientzler always strives to make dry, gastronomic wines perfect for pairing. Lean, fun, and drinkable, “La Soif” (“the thirst”) is just barely off dry, and finds the right balance of fruit & liveliness. From 35+ year old vines, it is aged in steel on the lees for 8 months.
White-fleshed apple, pear, apricot, and peach, with hints of honey, coriander and orange peel on the round, focused palate. Notes of spice, petrol, and flint frame rose petal and violet before the bright, mineral-driven finish.
50% Chasselas, 25% Riesling, 15% Muscat, 10% Auxerrois. Organic.
