The Stiegelmar family has cultivated grapes near Gols, in Burgenland, as far back as 1571. Axel and Herta Stiegelnar currently run the 18 hectare estate, with their sons Gregor & Philipp joining in recent vintages.
Their St. Laurent comes from 15+ year old vines, grown on sand and gravel soils, then aged 1.5 years in a mix of barriques and bigger barrels.
Brambly blackberries, sour cherry, and black currant fruit play with earthy wood spice, fresh herbs, coffee, cocoa, kirsch, and nougat. Complex, elegant, and harmonious, with fine, integrated tannins.
St. Laurent.
