The Guiberteaus mostly sold grapes to the local co-op until Romain Guiberteau returned home from college. He has applied the knowledge he gained from working with Nady & Charly Foucault at the famed Clos Rougeard, and is now known for his stunning expressions of Saumur terroir.
From a just 2 hectares of 65 year-old vines, grown on silt & sand over limestone bedrock. Destemmed, indigenous yeast fermented, with 6 months in tank
Earthy & herbal, with incredible depth & complexity. Youthful red & black fruit, leafy herbs, violet, & roasted red pepper. A smoky, vibrant expression of Cabernet Franc.
