Vines were planted in the area now owned by Coste Chaude as far back as 1582. Today the estate is located on the hill of Visan, where their 37 hectares are divided into 14 hectares of forest and truffle trees and 23 hectares of south-facing vines. The high altitude (360m) and constant breezes keep the fruit cool while protecting from fungal diseases and spring frost.
Mostly limestone gravel and pebbles mixed with old river deposit clay from the Miocene period. In the cellar, it was gently extracted with soft methods to keep the fruit crisp.
Fresh red & black fruit burst from the glass, with notes of spice, violets, cedar, new leather, and underbrush. Some time in the glass brings out aromas of licorice and eucalyptus. Well-balanced with a delicate freshness, medium body and smooth tannins.
