Bruno Clair is a winemaker’s winemaker, a benchmark producer in Burgundy, known for his attention to detail in the vineyards. His grandfather, Joseph Clair, founded the Clair-Daü estate in 1954. After family disputes broke up the family holdings, Bruno created his own 17 hectare domaine, later expanding to 27 hectares across 8 villages.
Grapes come from various plots on the Marsannay slope, grown on fine clay strewn with pieces of limestone. Indigenous fermentation. Aged 18 months in older oak barrels & foudres before blending.
The Chardonnay brings fruit, while the Pinot Blanc gives a round minerality. Firm & structured, with a lemon zestiness, passionfruit, orange rind, and pineapple. Nice & svelte with chalky depth & a slight tastiness on the mid palate.
80% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Blanc. Sustainable.
