Chateau Routas is nestled between the town of Aix-en-Provence and the white sand beaches that line the Gulf of Sant Tropez. Routas has 290 hectares of vines, wheat fields and olive trees surrounded by mushroom-rich forests.
The 55 hectares of vines are spread throughout a mosaic of small, unusually-shaped plots, ranging from brick-red soils to crumbly grey limestone with red clay & stones. The estate features some of the highest elevation in Provence, bringing cool nights to slow the ripening of grapes & provide additional complexity.
Each varietal is harvested, destemmed & pressed separately, with maceration lasting a few hours. The final blend is assembled once fermentation in steel completes.
Aromas of fresh cut watermelon and buttercups leads to a palate of wild strawberries, ripe peach, pink grapefruit, and wet stones. Light & fresh, with a crisp acidity, delicately creamy palate, and refreshing finish.
Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon. Sustainable.
