The history of Château de Tiregand spans back as far as the 13th century. Today the estate spans 460 hectares including the château, gardens, vines, woods and a riding club.
Pécharmant is known for its Périgord sand and gravel soils, where clay & iron have gradually leached into the subsoil below. This deep, impermeable layer is known as “tran”, and gives the wines a generous, full-bodied structure.
Tiregand has 36.5 hectares of vines, averaging 25 years, grown on mostly south-facing slopes. Fermented in open vats at controlled temp, it ages for 12 months in oak barrels (20% new).
A complex noes of fresh plums, black cherries, pepper, and coriander, with notes of musk and light toast, and ample tannins.
52% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, 9% Malbec
