Leeuwin Estate is one of the five founding wineries of the now-famous Margaret River district of Western Australia. In 1972, Robert Mondavi recognized the site’s ideal qualities for wine production, encouraging Denis & Tricia Horgan to transform their cattle farm into a winery. The accolades have followed ever since their first commercial vintage, when Decanter gave their highest recommendation to the 1979 “Art Series” Chardonnay.
Bright, crunchy, and full of energy, this Riesling is filled with lime and lemon citrus, jasmine and citrus blossoms, lychee, coriander seed, Thai basil, and Kaffir leaves. The nearby Indian Ocean brings briny mineral notes to the finely textured, precise, talc-laden finish.
