Grapes for Aplanta come from the community vineyard of Aldeia de Luz, which was relocated in 2004 to build the Alqueva Dam. The original site of the town was under the proposed waterline, so the new site and vineyards are now 250m above sea level, on sandy loam soils. Fermented & aged in French oak, it’s plush, lush, and refreshing, with notes of blueberry, plum, cherry, slate, tobacco, and spice.
