After falling in love with Pinot Noir in the early 1990s, Eric Lemelson planted his first vineyard in 1995 in Yamhill County, and completed construction of his winery just in time for the 1999 harvest. With a focus on sustainability, innovation, and tradition, he uses organic farming methods and gravity flow to craft his estate-grown wines.
“Thea’s Selection” is Lemelson’s house cuvée, sourcing fruit from all 7 of their organic, estate vineyards, for a glimpse of the vintage. The mostly destemmed fruit with a high proportion of whole berries spent over 30 days on the skins. indigenous yeast fermented, before spending 15 months in French oak (30% new).
An inviting and earthy nose of black cherry, black currant and plum, with subtle spice, black tea, chocolate, mushroom and lavender. Rich & supple with silky tannins and a juicy, sweet core, before a long finish of brambly fruit.
100% Pinot Noir. Organic.
