Cousins Prof. Dr. Ludwig Hausser & Johann Martin founded this small winery in Gimmeldingen as a hobby in 1845, which later became known as A. Christmann. Now run by the 7th generation of the family, who practice organic & biodynamic viticulture, hoping to preserve the individuality of the terroir.
From the first harvested grapes in Christmann’s classified sites, grown on sandstone soils in Gimmeldingen, Deidesheim, and Ruppertsberg. The warm growing season in the Pfalz allows for grapes picked with the perfect degree of ripeness for a lush body & soft acidity.
Smoky & flinty, with lemon, tart pear, & orange blossom aromas leading to note of petrol, and lush summer peaches, pears, & pineapple, leading to a dry finish.
